Renowned mixmaster Felix Orinda, known as DJ Evolve, is still recuperating after a club shooting incident that left him dependent on people for day-to-day activities.
DJ Evolve's dad: Babu Owino has been supportive
His father, John Orinda, on Thursday, September 1, 2022, spoke to Nairobi News about the deejay's health and the family’s wellbeing.
This comes a few days to the family marking the first anniversary since the passing of Mama Mary Hongo, Evolve's mother, in September 2022.

According to DJ Evolve's dad, he is doing well health-wise and continues to receive physiotherapy after having undergone three surgeries in the past two years.
He further disclosed that MP Babu Owino, accused of shooting his son, is still helping them financially, but the large chunk of money goes to the deejay's treatment plans.

Evolve’s father also said that his son still dreams of returning to the deejay booth and has been purchasing new equipment as he hopes to get back on his feet soon.
The deejay's family is planning to hold a memorial service for Evolve's mother, which will take place later in October.
According to the entertainer's father, he also encouraged his son to focus on getting better in the midst of him mourning his late mum.
He also said that the family was faring well and didn’t see much to complain about despite their circumstances.
TUKO.co.ke reached out to the deejay for a comment on how he was fairing moments before he went for his session.

In a different report, Babu agreed to purchase an apartment for the deejay's family which Mililimani Law Courts said was a condition before withdrawing the case against him
The Milimani Law Courts, on Tuesday, December 15, 2021 heard that the house purchase was one of the conditions for the withdrawal of DJ Evolve's attempted murder charges against the lawmaker.
Babu told the court that the purchase would ensure the DJ Evolve does struggle to pay rent, given that he is currently not gainfully employed and still recuperating at home.
